Chicken Goujons


Make your own Chicken Goujons just crumble an Oxo Chicken Cube into flour, add some spices then coat chicken strips with egg and flour before oven roasting.

Serves 4

What you need:

  • 1 Oxo Chicken cube
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp Cajun spice, Jamaican Jerk or Chinese 5 spice
  • 3 chicken breasts cut into thin strips,
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 200g dried breadcrumbs
  • vegetable oil
  • baking tray
via Asda, Sainsbury's,
Tesco and Ocado

How to make it:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/Gas 5.
  2. Crumble an Oxo Chicken Cube into the flour then add the spices and mix thoroughly.
  3. Place the flour mixture, egg and breadcrumbs onto three separate plates then dip each piece of chicken firstly into the flour, then egg and finally coat in the breadcrumbs.
  4. Lay each piece of chicken onto a lightly oiled baking tray and then brush over lightly with oil.
  5. Cook for 25 minutes until the chicken is cooked turning once.

Hints and tips:

  • For a really crispy coating try using Panko Japanese breadcrumbs.
