For an oriental twist on a British classic cottage pie just brown some mince with onions and carrots then add a jar of Sharwood’s Spicy Tomato Szechuan Stir Fry Sauce. Place in a casserole dish and top with mashed potato and bake until golden.
Serves 4
What you need:
- 450g lean minced beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 carrot, peeled and diced
- 1 jar Sharwood’s Spicy Tomato Szechuan Stir Fry Sauce
- 300g mashed potato, homemade or shop bought
- nonstick frying pan
- casserole dish
How to make it:
- Preheat the oven at 190ºC/ 375ºF/Gas 5.
- Brown the mince in a frying pan then add the onion and carrot and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Pour Sharwood’s Spicy Tomato Szechuan Stir Fry Sauce over browned minced beef and vegetables. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish and allow to cool slightly then top with the mashed potato.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cottage pie is piping hot and golden brown on top.
Hints and tips:
- To make the mash extra crispy, finish off under the grill for a few minutes.
